This is a Racquet Club Road Estates model B1, flat-roofed
with the entry in a small courtyard on the side of the home. Like most Palmer
& Krisel-designed homes, the living, dining and kitchen are all at the rear
of the home, while the three bedrooms are at the front.
The front of the home features low maintenance, mature
desert landscaping consisting of cacti, ocotillo, brittle bush shrubs, several
small palms and a sprawling multi-trunked tree. The facade of the home incudes
a variety of materials, with wood, stucco and block finishes. Most eye-catching
are the five large aqua polka-dots painted on the front of the home, which add
a playful, cheery element to the property.
One of the great things about the Palmer & Krisel
Alexander homes in Palm Springs is that they were designed as vacation
retreats, second homes that offered an escape from daily life in the city. This
escapism allows the homes to be fun in architecture, color and style, and
things like polka dots and bright colors that wouldn’t ordinarily be found in
sprawling cities are suddenly a very fitting norm in relaxed Palm Springs.

There’s no photos of the interior of the home, but judging
by the square-footage, bedrooms and bathrooms noted in the listing, it sounds like
the home still has its original layout. The south-facing backyard features its
original Alexander 15’ x 30’ in-ground rectangular pool, lots of patio space and
several palm trees. There’s also a small shed, large side yards and low maintenance
desert landscape along the sides of the property.
From the exterior this looks to be a fun, clean home on a
fantastic street filled with other well maintained and well-loved Palmer &
Krisel homes. Hopefully we’ll be able to see some interior photos of this one
