Built in 1955 in Midland Park Estates in Fullerton, CA is
this Palmer & Krisel-designed home relatively new to the market. Expanded
to 1,767 square feet, this home includes four bedrooms and two bathrooms, a two
car detached garage and sits on a large 10,300 square-foot cul-de-sac lot and
carries an asking price of $575,000.

Garage and entry |
The home sits behind a deep lawn and features a large
sweeping driveway accented with red bricks. A handful of homeowner clutter
fills the driveway, including the requisite outdoor couch. The front windows of
the home have been swapped out with white vinyl replacements, and the narrow
window band across the front of the home has seen one of its four windows
enlarged to a non-conforming size.

Living room |
The entry leads directly into the open dining room, which in
turn opens up into the rear facing living room. The living room is anchored by
Krisel’s signature stacked block modernist fireplace, which is mainly hidden
from view due to furniture placement. The original open beamed ceilings are
still present throughout the home, adding height and character to the living
areas.

Kitchen |
|
Breakfast nook addition and kitchen |
The kitchen sits somewhat reconfigured from its original location
along the front of the home, with the last updates taking place some point in
the 1980s. White faced cabinets with wood accents and tile counters make up the
room, and the appliances include one of each color – black, stainless and
white. A family room and breakfast nook addition sits off the kitchen, and
appears to have been constructed in a style that nicely mimics the rest of the
home.

Master bedroom |
All four bedrooms are located along the east side of the home,
and only one bedroom is shown which appears to be rather full of personal
items, but at least the original clerestories still appear to be intact. Both
bathrooms have been updated over the years, with the exception of an original
mint green bathtub remaining in one bathroom.

Backyard and covered patio |
|
Backyard |
The backyard contains a large covered and screened patio
which runs across the rear of the home and overlooks the yard. The majority of
the yard is grassy and open, with trees and shrubs surrounding the perimeter of
the yard.
If buyers can get past the clutter, there’s a pretty decent
midcentury home on a large cul-de-sac lot that is move-in ready and a great
candidate for a future renovation.
